United Methodist Church of the Pines donates $5,500 to support local food pantries
United Methodist Church of the Pines has donated a total of $5,500 to two Northwoods food pantries as part of its ongoing efforts to address food insecurity in the region. Pastor Mark Gilbert recently presented a check for $4,500 to Lorna Springate, executive director of the Lakeland Pantry. An additional $1,000 donation was sent to the Vilas County Food Pantry. The funds were raised through the church’s food security initiatives and special mission‑focused fundraising efforts, organizers said.
