James Bryant, 96, of Fairfield Bay Ark., formerly of Winchester, passed away on June 12, 2026, at his home in Arkansas. Jim was born in Dayton, Ohio on April 8, 1930. He met Rita Hologa, (who was also born on April 8) of Winchester, while visiting his sister’s resort. They married in November 1952. They had three children. Both Jim and Rita were very involved in the Winchester community. Jim was involved in local politics as a supervisor and chairman, and on the Vilas County Board. He was a charter member of the Winchester Lions Club and a Melvin Jones recipient, as was Rita. He was a charter member of the first ambulance department serving Winchester. When Jim and Rita retired, they moved to Henderson, Nev. After Rita passed away in 2004 Jim relocated to Fairfield Bay Ark. to enjoy the wonderful lake system of the area where he could fish and play a little golf. He was a man of many talents and enjoyed many experiences in life. Jim was predeceased by his wife Rita, of 52 years, his parents, all six of his siblings. He is survived by his three children, Mark (Jodi) of South Natick, Mass. Michael (Anna) of Naples, Fla., Michelle Caudle (Dan) of Lac du Flambeau. Five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Per Jim’s request, there will be no services. We ask, if you would like, to please donate to your local Lions club with Jim and Rita in your thoughts.
