Reader addresses Bangstad
To the Editor: The continuous nasty diatribes from Mr. Bangstad have gotten to be not only nastier but are painting a rather ugly landscape of our county. What is really sad is that he has become more and more sheltered within his own bias and will not allow others to express a dissenting opinion.
Bangstad and the sign of the Times
To the Editor: I see that Minocqua Brewery has put up a sign next to their place — “Make Minocqua Great Again. Don’t Subscribe to the Fish Wrapper” — along with a picture of the Times.
Walker sues Bangstad for punitive damages in defamation lawsuit
In a new lawsuit, Lakeland Times publisher Gregg Walker is suing Minocqua Brewing Company (MBC) owner Kirk Bangstad for punitive as well as compensatory damages in a new defamation lawsuit, after Bangstad posted on Facebook what the complaint says is outrageous and extreme false information about Walker and about the accidental death of Walker’s brother 35 years ago.

Bangstad and the Al-Gen fire
To the Editor: Recently, the Al-Gen restaurant in Rhinelander caught fire. When WJFW broke the story on social media, the comments were mostly from people giving well wishes to the owners, and thanking God no one was hurt. Seemingly innocent comments, right?
Reader concludes editorials shameful
To the Editor: It doesn’t take much analysis of its latest issues to come to the conclusion that the Lakeland Times, like much of conservative America and its allies in the extremist right-wing media, are once again happy to support Donald Trump in his anti-American death spiral into political and legal oblivion.
Oneida zoning orders Bangstad into immediate compliance

Bangstad and town of Minocqua will have another date
The Oneida County zoning committee told zoning staff last week that it has no problems with “revisions” proposed by Minocqua Brewing Company owner Kirk Bangstad to his administrative review permit for his Front Street retail business, but that doesn’t mean the town of Minocqua is out of the loop: In a preliminary review of the proposal, county staff defers the most critical issue —parking — to the town.

Readers oppose Bangstad
To the Editor: Drop your beads, Polly, this is what we’ve been waiting for.
Opposes Bangstad fans
To the Editor: After reading a selection of the hateful, obscene, and vitriolic letters addressed to the Minocqua town chairman by the Bangstad fan club and their threats to economically boycott the town if Bangstad doesn’t get his way, perhaps Minocqua's citizens and visitors would be better served if they did stay away.
Proud “redneck”
To the Editor: Richard Moore’s account of the barrage of hate directed at Mark Hartzheim and condescension directed at Minocqua residents — much of which came from non-resident agitators — saddened me but, regretfully, did not surprise me. Hatefulness and vulgarity are defining characteristics of today’s left.
A call for an immediate town meeting
The level of political hate has reached a crisis level in Minocqua, a level we have not witnessed in more than a score of years writing these opinions, and a level that now demands that the citizens of Minocqua take action.
