Our wonderful dad has passed from this life into eternity. We miss his laughter, his wisdom, his love, and yes even his dad-jokes. Summers will never be the same without his bountiful garden harvests.
Al retired after decades of leadership at NCR (National Cash Register), CETC (an NCR company), and AT&T in Ohio, Kansas, and New Jersey. He won awards and was well loved by his staff. He loved to host company pig roasts in Kansas with his wife, Sally, who preceded him in death in 2019. He and Sally built several homes together including their last residence, a log home in Wisconsin. One of his fondest memories was the almost year-long RV adventure he took with Sally across the United States endeavoring to visit every state. They had a ball and shared many wonderful memories together. He was a masterful gardener and got things to grow prolifically in the very short Wisconsin growing season during the last two decades of his life providing a bounty of produce for family, friends, and neighbors. Anyone who came to visit invariably got a garden tour, an overflowing bag of vegetables, or both!
Al is survived by his two sons David (Dawna) Raehpour, Paul (Karen) Raehpour, his daughter Julia Raehpour, and many dearly loved grandchildren in Kansas and Texas.
Dad often commented that he had the Best Life: He lived in the best country, he had the best education, the best wife, the best job, and the best kids. He lived his life productively and joyfully and we miss him.
A private family graveside was held at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau.
