John O. Erdmann
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the West Allis Police Department as a captain of detectives after 30 years of service.
John was active in the Masons. He was a lifetime member of the Island City Masonic Lodge, and a member of the Northwoods Shrine Club, the West Allis Shrine Club-Legion of honor, Tripoli Shrine, and the Hurley-Mercer Masonic Lodge #237 where he is past master. John also was a member of the Lake Tomahawk Lions Club and the Calvary Lutheran Church in Minocqua.
He is survived by his sons, Gary Mason (Lisa Simonds) and Sidney Mason, and a nephew Michael (Julie) Zahn. He is further survived by other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and his brothers Robert and William.
A Masonic memorial service will be held later this year with interment at Highland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Lake Tomahawk Lions Club or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
