John D. DeBoer
John was born and raised in Illinois and graduated from the Warren Township High School in Gurnee, Ill. After graduation, he entered the workforce beginning employment with his dad in construction. He was later employed at RC Cola where he worked for 44 years, retiring in 1997. John spent his retirement between Gurnee and Arbor Vitae, eventually moving to the Northwoods full time. He was social in many activities which included snowmobiling and fishing. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and had a wonderful sense of humor, calling each one by a specific nickname he had given them.
Survivors include his special friend, Adeline Sosnicki, of Arbor Vitae; his sons, John (Jeri) DeBoer, of Arbor Vitae, Mark DeBoer, of Beach Park, Ill., and Paul DeBoer, also of Beach Park; his daughter, Patty (Jerry) Bennett, of Belmont, Miss., and close niece, Lisa (Dutch) Albro, of Castle Pines North, Colo.; his sisters, Nancy Frye, of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., and Kathy Pott, of Huntley, Ill.
John is further survived by his grandchildren, John, Ami, Jason, Jayme, Matthew, and Ethan, and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret; his wife, Jean DeBoer; and his brothers-in law, Lloyd Frye and John Pott.
Memorials are appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
