Young Edge played best at season’s end
The numbers will show the Northern Edge girls’ hockey co-op recorded only three wins during the 2021-22 season. Had the second been a couple of weeks longer, it is quite possible that number would have been higher.

After a wild winter season, the spring prep season began Monday afternoon with the first day of track and field practice. The track season returns to it’s “normal” time slot. Due to an alternate fall season last year, the track season didn’t start until April.

Altered hockey photo sent before playoffs
It’s been a dream last few weeks for the Lakeland boys’ hockey team. They won two games, qualified for state and got to compete in Madison. Before that happened, a photo popped up that tried to stop all that.
Rice Lake prevails over Lakeland boys’ hockey at state
Alliant Energy Center was the backdrop for the biggest game of the year for the Lakeland boys’ hockey team. The Thunderbirds proved they could skate right with top-seeded Rice Lake Thursday morning at state in Madison.

Lakeland Hawk Squirts prep for state tournament
It’s an exciting time for Lakeland hockey. Not only did the high school program go to state, but so are the Lakeland Hawk Squirts. “Fantastic. The kids deserve it, worked hard all year so it’s awesome,” coach Nick Durkee said about qualifying for state.
