Minocqua No Frills Marathon on Sept. 6

The Minocqua No Frills Marathon and Half-Marathon will take place Sunday, Sept. 6 on the Bearskin Trail. Due to safety concerns regarding the coronavirus, stagered start times will occur to limit the number of participants starting at the same time.

Virtual Paavo Nurmi Marathon on Aug. 7-9

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Paavo Nurmi will go virtual and runners will be able to participate between Friday, Aug. 7 and Sunday, Aug. 9.

Big Blue K Par 3 Challenge rescheduled to Aug. 29

At 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, the Big Blue K?Par 3 Challenge will take place at Pinewood Country Club. This is a Par 3 tournament where everyone plays their own ball. All 18 holes are setup as par 3’s.

Join the Boulder Junction and Manitowish Waters Lions Clubs for the 20th annual golf tournament at the Trout Lake Golf Club on Thursday, Aug. 27 with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

Do what makes you happy

One thing I’ve learned in life is it’s important to do things you love and to surround yourself with what makes you happy. For me, I have many outlets that bring me happiness. One of those is sports. 

Antigo dominates Lakeland baseball in scrimmage

The baseball season might have been canceled, but that didn’t stop the Lakeland baseball team from getting out on the field Monday night.

A whole new ballgame

Sports are returning to the Northwoods. The last time the Lakeland Thunderbirds played a high school game was March 3 when the boys’ basketball team played Antigo.
