Lady T-Birds drop third straight game
The Lakeland Union High School softball team faced off against one of the top pitchers in the Great Northern Conference in its first true road game of the season. Medford beat the Thunderbirds 6-1 at Raider Field Thursday.
Errors plague Lakeland baseball in loss at Medford
The Lakeland baseball team struggled to make plays in the field in its second loss of the week. The Thunderbirds fell 12-0 in five innings to Medford Friday in Medford. Lakeland totaled nine errors, leading to 10 unearned runs.
Pride Football Camp starts on July 20
High school scheme install and skill contact days for incoming eighth- through 12th-graders is coming this summer. Incoming eighth-graders are welcomed and encouraged to participate with the high school players.

Fall flag football league begins in August
Practices and games will be held on the Lakeland High School game field and practice field. This league is focused on having fun, skill introduction and development and learning football strategy. Sportsmanship and teamwork will also be taught.
Indoor track finale
The Lakeland Union High School track and field team ended the indoor season with a distance meet. The Thunderbirds took part in the Point Indoor Distance Carnival Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. No team scores were kept at this event.
Lady T-Birds win second half, season opener
The Lakeland Union High School girls’ soccer team won its season opener for the first time in three years Tuesday night. The Thunderbirds beat non-conference Hayward 2-0 at IncredibleBank Field. Originally supposed to have been played in Hayward, the game was moved to Minocqua with Hayward’s field not ready.

Lakeland Thunderbirds basketball is offering an intramural boys’ basketball league for grades two through four. The cost is $20 (financial aid available if needed).
