Rain, Raiders ruin Thunderbirds home conference opener
Amidst the rain and the elements, the Lakeland football team and Medford battled it out at IncredibleBank Field. A second half effort was more than enough for the Raiders to secure the win.

Things didn’t go as planned for Lakeland boys’ soccer last Thursday in Medford. Responding on the road, the Thunderbirds got back on track at Ashland. The Thunderbirds beat the Oredockers 6-1 Tuesday night.
Lady Thunderbirds beat Hodags, win first GNC match
Looking for a bounce back win, the Lakeland volleyball team came out with a big win over Rhinelander Tuesday night. The Thunderbirds beat the Hodags 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-16) at the Lakeland Union High School fieldhouse in Minocqua.

Mosinee dominates Lakeland football
Traveling on the road to play at Mosinee is no easy task. The Lakeland football team found out that out in a blowout loss in Mosinee. Mosinee defeated the Thunderbirds 40-7 on Friday, Sept. 2. It was Lakeland’s third consecutive loss to begin the season.

The biggest game of the year so far took place Thursday in Medford. Lakeland boys’ soccer dug themselves a hole they couldn’t dig out of. The Raiders beat the Thunderbirds 4-1 at Raider Field. It was Lakeland’s first loss of the season.
