Joyce Hogan

Joyce Hogan, of Minocqua, died peacefully on Feb. 24, 2021 at the age of 77 after a courageous battle with cancer. She spent her final weeks at Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff  with her son and daughter by her side. Joyce was born Oct. 17, 1943 to Leland and Elizabeth Harvey (Genteman) in Chicago. After many family vacations and fond memories of the Northwoods; she decided to move to Minocqua after retiring from Motorola in Schaumburg, Ill. Joyce enjoyed spending time with family and friends around the lake and in the beauty of the Northwoods. She was known for her kindness, generosity and ability to make strangers into lifelong friends. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met, and she often went out of her way to help friends in need. She is survived by her two children, Kathleen Cox and Michael (Amy Young) Hogan, her four grandchildren, Sam and Matthew Cox, Keelin and Seamus Hogan, her brother-in-law Robert “Bob” Henderson, her sister-in-law Nancy Harvey, her nephew Jason (Dawn) Harvey, and their two children, Tyler and Andrew. She is also survived by many caring friends who provided her with significant support both during and prior to her illness. In keeping with her selfless personality, Joyce did not want a service or celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
