Kellie Lena (Moffitt) Prindle


Kellie Lena (Moffitt) Prindle, age 44, passed away Dec. 26, 2020 in Angel Fire, N.M. Kellie was born in Stone Mountain, Ga., Sept. 29, 1976. Kellie was preceded in death by her husband Morgan Prindle in 2019.
While attending Lakeland Union High School in Minocqua, Kellie was drawn to aviation which led to her earning a private pilot’s license at the age of 18. Kellie began her professional career in aviation, attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 1994 to 1998. After graduation, Kellie moved to Zanesville, Ohio, where she worked as a certified flight instructor, teaching students from 1998 to 2001. Hanging up her wings to raise her children, Kellie would later return to school in 2012 to embark on her second career. Kellie attended the University of New Mexico-Taos from 2012 to 2016 where she earned a 3.89 GPA and graduated with an A.S. in nursing. In July 2016, Kellie became a proud member of the Holy Cross Hospital family in Taos, N.M. Kellie was passionate about her work as a nurse and was pursuing an advanced nursing degree at the time of her passing. Kellie enjoyed doting on her children and participating in the great northern New Mexico outdoor activities, especially skiing and hiking.
Kellie is survived by her children Raiden, Merik and Keenan as well as parents William Moffitt (wife, Kay) (Charleston, S.C.), Karen Musson (husband, George) (Slidell, La.), brothers Bill Moffitt (Gainesville, Ga.) and Greg Moffitt (Elburn, Ill.), sisters Kathryn Moffitt (Chicago) and Kristine Moffitt (West Hollywood, Calif.), grandmother Mary Kennedy (West Palm Beach, Fla.), uncles Rodger Kennedy (Royal Palm Beach, Fla.), Douglas Kennedy (West Palm Beach), Ralph Sanders (Wilsonville, Ala.), Craig Moffitt (Palm Beach Shores, Fla.), aunts Eileen Batchelor (Macon, Ga.), Jennifer Moffitt Carbee (Orlando), Debra Coyle (Delray Beach, Fla.), Cheri Sanders (Wilsonville, Ala.), Leslie Brickey (Boise, Id.), cousins Richard Sanders (Wilsonville, Ala.), Dana Sanders (Wilsonville), nieces Emma Moffitt (Elburn, Ill.), Megan Moffitt (Elburn, Ill.), nephew Brandon Moffitt (Elburn) and in-laws Cliff Prindle (Angel Fire), Connie Erwin (Angel Fire), Jonathan Prindle (Angel Fire) and Pamela Prindle (Angel Fire).
A celebration of life ceremony will be scheduled late summer/early fall 2021 with details to be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation to the Kellie Lena Prindle Memorial Scholarship Fund established at the University of New Mexico, Taos, NM. This endowment will provide scholarships in perpetuity to students pursuing a nursing degree at the Taos campus.
