Charlotte Ruth Nork

Charlotte Ruth Nork (nee Hermann), age 92, passed away on Jan. 3, 2021. Charlotte was born in Chicago on March 29, 1928 and was the youngest of six  children born to Emil and Minnie Hermann (nee Korbitz).
Charlotte was a 1946 graduate of Kelly High School in Chicago. She married William F Nork, Jr. on June 29, 1946 at Peace Lutheran Church in Chicago, where she was also baptized on April 15, 1928, attended Lutheran grade school, and was confirmed in 1942.
William and Charlotte were married for 74 years. Will and Char had two daughters, Susanne and Wendy. Char was a very loving wife and mother. Char considered her role as a wife, mother, and homemaker the most important roles in her life. She also worked outside of the home at various jobs, including a drug and alcohol hospital in Prescott for 28 years. She and Will enjoyed volunteering for  the Wild Rose Hospital in Waupaca, installing an emergency service for the elderly called Life Line.
Char and Will were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Prescott and Peace Lutheran Church in Wautoma for many years. Char served her Savior as a member of the Ladies Aid Society, as a Sunday School teacher, active in fellowship events, member of various choirs, participated in the Peace Kitchen Band, and church  sewing circle. During her retirement years, she and Will were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Minocqua, where they enjoyed singing in the Trinity Senior Choir. Always helping out with whatever the need, both Will and Char were busy throughout their retirement years. A highlight of those retirement years was the building of a log home which would serve as a tangible legacy to their daughters and families. Of course, it was their faith in Jesus which they lived out every day of their lives that was  the most important legacy they gave to their family.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and their husbands, three brothers and their wives. She is survived by her husband William and two daughters — Susanne Hanson (David) of Manitowish Waters, and Wendy Liesener (Thomas) of Anchorage, Alaska; six grandchildren — Rachel (Hanson) Halldorson (Wayne) of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Thomas W. Liesener (Lydia) of Kunming, China; Reid Hanson (Brenda) of Hochspeyer, Germany; Christa (Liesener) Phelps (Ted) of Anchorage; Rebekah (Hanson) Savage (Tom) of Brighton-Hove, England, and Zoe Liesener of Anchorage; and seven great-grandchildren — William Halldorson, Hosanna Halldorson, Avery Hanson, August Hanson, Emma Phelps, Samuel Liesener, and Daniel Liesener.
Funeral arrangements are being planned for May 2021.
