As an avid Bears, Blackhawks, and Cubs fan, Frank enjoyed watching sports with friends who were often cheering on opposing teams. His living room was usually set up with multiple TVs to watch as many games at once as possible. After the games, the surround sound was used in concert fashion to play his favorites at the optimal noise level: Beatles, Eagles, Pink Floyd, and many more.
Frank was easy to connect with and brought out the goofiness in those around him. His over-the-top personality was infectious and those that spent time with him would often adopt his odd and hilarious mannerisms. He was also a spoiler of animals, giving out dog treats like candy and finding different ways to overstimulate them (hello laser pointer).
Frank is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Buzzanca (Alex), son Frank Buzzanca, Jr. (Star), grandson Frank Buzzanca III, Jane Buzzanca, sisters Barbara Godfrey (Shaun) and Linda Ostermann (Mike), and many nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Marie, and his sister Mary “Buzzy” Buchanan.
A memorial visitation with the family will be held for Frank on Saturday, Jan. 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Nimsgern Funeral Home in Woodruff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made at https://www.gofundme.com/f/memorial-fund-for-frank-buzzanca or to the Howard Young Foundation.
