Wisconsin’s spring turkey season wrapped up this week. Preliminary numbers by the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) show a total of over 47,000 birds were harvested. This year’s season also highlighted 50 years since the turkey had been reintroduced to the state; when in 1976, Wisconsin traded some of its ruffed grouse to Missouri for 29 wild turkeys.
