The Lakeland Figure Skating Club had a strong showing at the Excel National Festival and Final, including a national champion. The Excel National Festival and Final took place July 15 through 19 at the Skating Club of Boston in Norwood, Mass. Five girls represented Lakeland in Paisley and Sophia Metzger, Sophia and Vivian Yelton and Abby Zimmerman.
