A flash of lightning: Thunderbirds win weather-shortened game
The Lakeland Union High School girls’ soccer team did just enough to win a weather-shortened game over Merrill by the score of 1-0 Thursday night in Minocqua. The Thunderbirds led 1-0 when lightning flashed in the distance at the 43 minute, 59 second mark of the game. The game was stopped for a 30-minute delay before the game was ultimately called.
