Having already won the conference title, the Lakeland boys’ cross country team punched its ticket to the state meet. The Thunderbirds won the sectional championship, taking first out of 15 qualified teams with 45 points at a WIAA Division 2 sectional meet Friday, Oct. 24 at Merrill Area Recreation Complex.
