LUHS baseball closes regular season with win
Wrapping up the regular season, the Lakeland baseball team had momentum on their side as they set their sights on a playoff game vs. Medford. The Thunderbirds beat non-conference Chequamegon 6-3 Tuesday night in Minocqua. With the win, the Thunderbirds are 7-5 in their last 12 games.
Jesús Hoyos, Dominic Gironella advance to sectionals
A young team improving all season, the Lakeland boys’ tennis team saw their hard work pay off with two Thunderbirds advancing to sectionals. Jesús Hoyos moved on in No. 1 singles. In addition, No. 2 singles Dominic Gironella picked up a big upset to advance to the sectional meet.
Thunderbirds advance 20 in regional meet
With the postseason meets starting, the Lakeland track and field teams looked to get as many athletes to sectionals as possible Monday night in Tomahawk. Many Thunderbirds moved on.
T-Bird golf secures regional championship
The Lakeland golf team has shown their postseason dominance in Division 2 over the past few years. Now in Division 1, they faced some adversity and became regional champions.

Lady Thunderbirds capture GNC title for first time in 11 years
A big win over Rhinelander last week gave the Lakeland girls’ soccer team a chance at a conference title. With two wins in two days, the Thunderbirds won the Great Northern Conference for the first time in 11 years.
Tigers bring home five conference champs
The Mercer track and field teams looked for some conference championships when they went to Drummond for the Indianhead Conference meet Tuesday, May 17.

The Lakeland boys’ tennis team took part in the Great Northern Conference meet on Thursday where one Thunderbird finished all-conference. Then the Thunderbirds won their final match of the season in Ashland.
LUHS baseball falls to Antigo, beats Abbotsford/Colby
It’s been a solid stretch of baseball for Lakeland. They continued to show their improvement with two games in two days. The Thunderbirds fell 6-4 to Antigo on Thursday. Then on Friday, Lakeland defeated Abbotsford/Colby 3-2.
Lady Thunderbirds bring the storm in big win over Hodags
So far this season, the Lakeland girls’ soccer team has lost just two games. One to a ranked Notre Dame team and one to Rhinelander April 28 off a penalty kick (PK). The Thunderbirds avenged their loss to the Hodags and set themselves up to take home a conference title.

Lakeland baseball picks up team victory over Marathon
Lakeland baseball continued their busy stretch of games with a conference contest Monday and a non-conference game Tuesday. Lakeland saw a couple different results. Antigo won 11-10 over the Thunderbirds Monday in Antigo. Back in Minocqua, the Thunderbirds beat Marathon 11-3 Tuesday night.

Coming up on the Great Northern Conference tournament, the Lakeland boys’ tennis team picked up their first win as a team at home. Playoff push
With playoffs right around the corner, the Lakeland softball team looked to get on a mini hot streak with road games in Eagle River and Tomahawk. The Thunderbirds beat Northland Pines 14-6 on Monday. Then on Tuesday, Lakeland fell 9-4 to Tomahawk.
LUHS girls’ soccer dominates Medford
For the first time in a week, the Lakeland girls’ soccer team hit the field for another conference match Tuesday night. It ended up being a convincing win. The Thunderbirds beat Medford 7-0 at Raider Field.
