After a slow start, Lakeland put up many runs to remain undefeated in the Babe Ruth Prep League. The Thunderbirds beat Rhinelander 16-11 in six innings on Tuesday, June 24 in Rhinelander.
Lakeland 12U softball teams drop two games
Even though the Lakeland 12U softball teams didn’t get the results they wanted to on the scoreboard, they’re looking at the positives from the season. Rhinelander beat one Lakeland team 16-3, and Tomahawk beat Lakeland’s other team 19-1. Both games took place on Tuesday, June 24 in Minocqua.

Pride Football Camp starts on July 21
High school scheme install and skill contact days for incoming 8th through 12th graders is coming this summer. Incoming eighth graders are welcomed and encouraged to participate with the high school players.

All-conference awards aplenty for T-Bird spring athletics
Many Lakeland Union High School student-athletes were represented with all-conference recognition following the prep spring sports season. In fact, all six spring sports saw a Thunderbird be named a Player of the Year award winner.

A total of 20 kids from the Saturday Youth Bowling League participated in the 2025 Wisconsin State United States Bowling Congress (USBC) Youth Championship Tournament that was held at Dream Lanes and Prairie Lanes in Madison.
The dream ends
MADISON — A dream season to remember came to an end for the Lakeland softball team at the state tournament in Madison. Second-seeded Denmark (25-7), the eventual WIAA Division 2 state champions, defeated third-seeded Lakeland 3-2 in a state semifinal game on Friday.
