Hunter Biden is guilty. But you knew that

Over the years, I’ve written a lot about drug offenders sentenced to decades in federal prison, even life without parole, for first-time nonviolent offenses.

Lakeland Times: Our View

They say there’s always a silver lining in a bad situation, and one of the silver linings of having schools closed during the pandemic is that, because of remote learning, parents actually got to see what educators were teaching their kids, many of them for the first time.

Climate activist urges vote for protection of northern ecosystems

To the Editor: Earlier this year, members of the Chequamegon Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) attended a Work Party in Stevens Point with CCL-ers from across Wisconsin to develop strategies for turning out environmentalists to vote in this year’s elections. Reader responds to ‘Secret group’ article

To the Editor: In response to Richard Moore’s article in the Northwoods River News and The Lakeland Times entitled “Oops! ‘Secret group’ is secret no more,” I would like to say a few things. Mr. Moore’s article seems to imply that a group of environmental advocates who want to know …

Torpy Park goose gripe

To the Editor: What is the matter with the town of Minocqua! You have a beautiful park that families enjoy every year except for the goose waste that surrounds the beach.

Freedom under Trump

Donald Trump recently spoke at the Libertarian National Convention. Good for him. It’s encouraging that he reached out to those of us who often disagree with him.

Hospitals critical to the health of rural communities

There is an old proverb that states: “He who has health has hope; and he who has hope has everything.” Our state is rich in all kinds of resources, but the health of Wisconsinites is one of the most important.
