He attended St. Anne’s Catholic Elementary School, Newman High School, and graduated from North Central Technical College.
On January 31, 1970, he married his high school sweetheart Mary Margrecki. They moved to Appleton, where they resided until retirement in 2010, after retirement they moved to their vacation home on Currie Lake, in Harshaw.
He is survived by his wife, two children Brian (Kim) Fricke and Lisa (Ty) Hoffmann, four grandchildren Abbi and Brenna Fricke, Ben and Hannah Hoffmann, and sister Bev Esker.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Tony and Margaret Magrecki, and brother-in-law Ron Esker.
Larry proudly served his country in the National Guard for six years.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by American Can, Georgia Pacific, and Allied Mechanical of Wisconsin.
Summer was spent gardening, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. Fall and spring were reserved for traveling and winter for snowmobiling. He enjoyed all sports and excelled in many.
He enjoyed volunteering and meeting new people. Prior to his retirement, he was very active in the Habitat for Humanity Rebuild Program and at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Yasar and her staff of wonderful nurses who provided phenomenal care and support for over eleven years, as Larry journeyed through his courageous battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. They also wish to thank all the amazing staff of Compassus, for the caring hospice care they provided.
The visitation and Mass, on June 21, 2023, will be at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., and Mass starting at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
