James Allan Goretski

James Allan Goretski “Jim,” 62, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023.

Jim was born on December 17, 1960, in Wausau, son of the late Harold Goretski and the first born of Geraldine (Brendemuehl) Goretski both from the town of Sayner and formerly of Wausau.

He is survived by his mother, Geraldine, his only son, Joshua James Goretski (Nicki) and their children, Cole and Garret whom Jim considered his pride and joy. His brother, John Goretski of Wausau, sister, Lori Krall (Mark) of St. Germain, sister, Lisa Mueller (Todd) and their son Tyler all of Wausau.

Jim was a graduate of the 1979 class at Wausau West High School. He worked at Moduline Windows in Wausau for over 20 years, retiring in 2020 to his residence in Sayner (which he considered his true home).

Jim was an avid fisherman and especially loved to Musky fish — a passion that he shared with his nephew, Tyler. He loved to bird hunt with his dog and always loved spending time with Joshua and other family members at his favorite lake — Dorothy Dunn Lake.

Jim lived a simple life, had a big heart and truly loved being in the Northwoods.

There, he leaves behind his lifetime friend Keith, and his wife Sandi, and all his friends from Weber’s Wildlife.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Harold Goretski, and grandparents, Rueben and Lucy Goretski and his in-laws, Frank and Virgina Brendemuehl, all of Wausau.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday, April 22, at Weber’s Wildlife, located at 2649 County Rd. C in Sayner, from 1 until 5 p.m.
