Meredith “Merry” Gaulden (Burgess) went on her journey into the spirit realm on February 2, 2023.
Merry was born in Minneapolis on October 14, 1974. She grew up in south Minneapolis where she went to high school at South High School in Minneapolis. Merry then went to Augsburg University in accounting while raising two children. She spent an abundance of time with her family from the Lac du Flambeau reservation, and the Yankton Sioux reservation, in addition to all her family in Minnesota.
Her biggest loves were family, puzzles, her many pets, bingo, lemons, and squeezing everyone she cared for. She had such a kind soul and was a sweetheart to everyone she met. She was the source of guidance and wisdom to her family.
Preceded in death by her son Jezreel. Survived by her husband of 28 years Jimmiee Gaulden, Jr., children Alicia (Josh), Sonrisa, Olivia, Elizabeth, and Matthew Gaulden. Further survived by her parents Stuart Bruguier and Rose Burgess; her mother-in-law Cheryl (John) Warren Austion, her siblings Ben (Tahnee) Burgess, Robert (Vanessa) Burgess and Yvonne Burgess and by many nieces and nephews.
A wake and funeral service was held in Lac du Flambeau, on Feb. 9 and 10. A memorial service will be held the following week, in Minneapolis TBD.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
