Josephine Rose McCoy
Josephine Rose McCoy (Gaura), of Mercer, died on April 8, 2023 at Milestone Senior Living in Woodruff. Last surviving sibling of eight, born to Michael & Mary Gaura (Vons) on December 17, 1925. Over her 97-year life, she belonged and helped in many local organizations, too many to list here. She married Orville R. McCoy (Mac) on September 29, 1945, who preceded her in death. Her oldest daughter, Karen Van Dam, also preceded her in death. Surviving children are Susan Williams (Richard), Richard McCoy, and Kathy Tutt (Mike); seven grandchildren, Brian Lenderink, Kristyn Matyus, Carey Williams, Matthew Williams, Adam Tutt, Jake Tutt and Daniel McCoy. As well as one great-granddaughter, Summer L. Matyus and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Milestone Senior Living, Rev. Erv Teichmiller and her many friends at the Mercer United Methodist Church. Cremation took place at Bolger Funeral Home in Woodruff. A future graveside burial for family and friends will be held in the summer, at the Mercer Cemetery.
