Geraldine “Gerry” Sweo

Geraldine “Gerry” Sweo, 76 of Lac du Flambeau, and formerly of Rhinelander, passed away on Saturday, November 12 at her residence with her family by her side. Gerry was born on March 4, 1946, in Lac du Flambeau, the daughter of Francis and Marion (nee LaBarge) Diver. She graduated from high school in Green Bay, and worked in the deli at Walmart in Minocqua for many years. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, hunting and fishing. Gerry loved all family get togethers, family reunions, weddings and holidays. She was most proud of being a successful mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children Denese (Dean) Bettinger, Laurie (Jesse) Bielen, Travis (Tricia) Gechas, Michael Sweo Jr. and grandchildren Angel Rigney, Johnathon Stevens, Megan Bettinger, Jenna Bettinger, Kole Gechas, Kylie Gechas, Avery Bielen, Bryce Sweo and Hailey Buettner and by her great-grandchildren Brynlee Hallas, Haylee Anderson and Gavyn Rigney and she was a sister to seven brothers and six sisters.
Gerry was preceded in death by her husband Michael Sweo Sr. on July 26, 2020.
Private family services will be held at Nimsgern Funeral Home Chapel in Woodruff with burial at Memorial Cemetery in Lac du Flambeau.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Christian Broadcasting for Operation Blessings.
