The St. Germain town board, meeting in special session on Dec. 11, took action to schedule a special meeting of the town electors. Voters will be asked to decide whether the offices of town clerk and treasurer should be elected or appointed positions.

Adversity strikes LUHS boys’ hoops team in loss to Medford

Foul trouble and injuries were too much to overcome for the Lakeland Union High School boys’ basketball team in its road opener on Friday. Medford (1-2, 1-1 GNC) defeated the Thunderbirds 66-52 in a Great Northern Conference contest at Raider Hall.

Lake Tomahawk town board formally adopts 2026 budget

The Lake Tomahawk town board formally adopted its budget for the upcoming year. Town chairman George DeMet said there wasn’t much change to the budget, which has a property tax levy of $811,914 included, a 1.73 percent increase from the 2025 budget.
