‘Maverick’ brings comedy to a classic western tale

Western month is in full swing and readers have seen reviews so far including movies with western greats like John Wayne and Lee Van Cleef. The western I watched recently is a stark contrast from movies like “The Shootist” or “Death Rides a Horse.” Instead, it’s the most contemporary film reviewed so far and it provides plenty of laughs. It also stars an unlikely western actor in Mel Gibson.
