‘Wake boat’ ordinances make their way to Hazelhurst

Town board gets public input on ordinances essentially banning wake surfing on most lakes

The Hazelhurst town board on Tuesday received public input on two potential “wake boat” ordinances. Between 30 to 40 people attended the meeting and approximately 16 different people commented on the proposed ordinances, some people commented more than once. Only two of those who spoke weren’t in favor of the regulations town supervisor Jeff Verdoorn described at the start of the discussion.
