Former Camp Jorn employee pleads guilty to neglecting child felony

A 29-year-old Mercer woman pleaded guilty to a class H felony of neglecting a child with the consequence of bodily harm during a court hearing on Dec. 1 in Vilas County court. According to court records, Alexis Engler, who was a preschool teacher at Camp Jorn in Manitowish Waters, knowingly and voluntarily waived her rights to a jury trial and entered the guilty plea.
