Vilas sheriff’s deputy back on patrol after working his way through the ranks again

Schmidt indicates news report was misleading, fully supports Wilmot

A Vilas County sheriff’s deputy is back on patrol duty after taking some time off to work in the private sector and working his way back up from a lesser-paid position within the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office. He was accused of being involved in what one news report labeled as a “drunken bar fight” in May of 2021.
