Evidence pertaining to the 1990 cold case has been resubmitted for new DNA testing, and law enforcement is asking anyone with any information to call the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office at 800-479-4441 or the Wisconsin Department of Justice at 608-266-1221. The Vilas County Sheriff’s Office has continued to work on a homicide investigation that’s been cold now for 35 years. Most recently, evidence has been resubmitted for DNA testing with a private firm with the hope that a different way of it being tested could finally bring justice for Susan “Suzy” Poupart, the Lac du Flambeau woman whose remains were found in the woods all those years ago, and her family.
