Colette Welch, left, deputy clerk for the town of Lac du Flambeau, and Dennis Sengstock commence a recount by hand of the 1,270 votes cast in the April 1 election on Saturday, April 5, at the Lac du Flambeau town hall. Supervising the recount is Lee Ann White, who served as chief election inspector. The recount was requested by Stephanie Thompson, who lost in the election to incumbent town chair Matt Gaulke by seven votes, 590 to 583. Saturday’s recount didn’t change the April 1 results.
