Ice shack removal date draws near

Anglers should be aware of changing ice conditions

While the action on the ice may be hot for some anglers, the season for permanent ice shacks is coming to a close. On inland waters north of Highway 64, such as those in the Northwoods, permanent ice shacks must be removed by March 19. Anglers should be aware the inland game fishing season, however, ends earlier, on March 5, at midnight. The general pan fishing season is open year round, unless there is a special regulation on a water body. Anglers should always check season dates as well as length and bag limits for the specific body of water on which they will be fishing.
