State’s draft wolf plan open for public comment until Feb. 28

Plan removes population number, angers private land owners near reservations

Recently the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) released their draft wolf management plan. The 178-page document has come under scrutiny by many groups and individuals, not to the surprise of the DNR. Originally the plan was only to be open for public comment until the end of January. However, at the urging of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation and others, the comment period was extended until Feb. 28.
