Lac du Flambeau town board asks LdF tribe for a moratorium on road closures

Barricades remain in place

The Lac du Flambeau town board, meeting in special session Thursday for the second time last week on an issue involving the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians and tribal easements on four roads, approved a motion from town supervisor Bob Hanson asking for a 60-day moratorium on the barricading of the roads that were put in place by the tribe Tuesday, Jan. 31.
