Avery Tucker heads out to find an ice fishing spot on Friday, Dec. 8, on Hemlock Lake. There is no “sure answer,” according to Department of Natural Resources (DNR), when determining if ice is 100 percent safe. The DNR also encourages fishermen to carry basic safety gear, like ice picks or a life jacket, with them too.
