Opening weekend brings cold temps, many smaller deer

Hunters overall were excited to have snow for deer season, which has been hit and miss for several years. What most did not expect, or look forward to, were below zero temperatures and wind. Kurt Justice from Kurt’s Island Sports in Minocqua said the cold and wind likely had many hunters not moving around as they may have otherwise.
