Lakeland STAR Academy/School to add post-secondary experience for adult students fall 2022

STAR, which is an acronym for strong, talented, adventurous and remarkable, has a curriculum for students with autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, bipolar disorder and other conditions that aren’t typically considered systematically “normal.” When we read through this story and see words like “neuroatypical” or “neurodivergent,” we are talking about those students. The majority of students in the STAR program are autistic.
