Based on the titular novel by Delia Owens, directed by Olivia Newman, and produced by Reese Witherspoon, “Where the Crawdads Sing” was released in theaters on July 15. The film is set in the 1960s, and the story follows a young woman named Catherine “Kya” (pronounced “kai-uh”) Clark, who has been living in the marshes of North Carolina after her family abandoned her as a young child.
