Meet Your Library: A new director for Presque Isle

The second in a resurrected series about area libraries

To Christal Schermeister, the new director of the Presque Isle Community Library, one of the most distinctive aspects of her workplace is in its very name. “Everything else is the ‘So-and-So Public Library.’ We’re the Presque Isle Community Library,” Schermeister said. “Which is interesting to me, ‘cause it kind of reflects the close-knit nature of the community. It’s not just for the public — it’s really a community here, everyone is very connected.”
