Last Call: The Polecat and Pitzos depart after 43 years

In December of 2021, the Polecat and Lace Restaurant was sold after more than four decades in business and the beating heart of The Island has a hole in it, evidenced by testimonies of devoted patrons and former employees. If you asked him, former proprietor Mike Pitzo would more likely call them family. “The people. I’m going to miss the people,” Pitzo said. “You wouldn’t believe the friends that were made.”
