Eagle River Snowmobile Derby celebrates 59th year

Event to take place from January 13-16

Fifty nine years ago, John Alward of Chanticleer Inn, his wife Betty and Walter Goldsworthy of Three Lakes decided the economy of the Northwoods needed a boost in the winter. A winter celebration was planned for February of 1964, according to the World Championship Snowmobile Derby website.
