News analysis Trump-backed businessman and GOP gubernatorial candidate Tim Michels rolled to the Republican nomination Tuesday, defeating former lieutenant governor Rebecca Kleefisch comfortably, while a candidate who texted his disdain for Donald Trump in 2020, Fond du Lac district attorney Eric Toney, edged conservative former lawmaker Adam Jarchow for the GOP nod for attorney general.
