Two more games to go. Lakeland boys’ soccer and Mosinee had split the season series during conference play. They met up once again with two games to go before state.

Tiger volleyball gives McDonell Central Catholic a fight
The Mercer volleyball team was close to returning to the state tournament for the first time in 20 years. After two games in three days, the Tigers had a chance to go back.
Owen Clark 20th in state
At the WIAA state cross country championships, 151 runners each set out to run their best. Three Thunderbirds ended up with a good showing. For the boys, Owen Clark and Ashton Bremer finished in the top 40. In the girls’ race, Grace Kern placed in the top 80.
RNC team, Lester, Belanger crowned state mountain biking champions
Despite a year off due to COVID-19 and a new head coach, the Rhinelander Northwoods Composite Mountain Bike team still proved to be one of the best in the state of Wisconsin.

Lakeland girls’ tennis improved throughout season

The Lakeland Nordic Ski Team (LNST) registration night will be held at 5:30 p.m. for elementary and middle school students and 6:30 p.m. for high school students on Monday, Nov. 1 at Lakeland Union High School.
