John Earl Enders

John Earl Enders “Jocko,” age 84, of Manitowish Waters, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Careview Health and Rehabilitation in Minocqua.

He was born on December 23, 1941 in Plymouth, the son of Edward Anthony Enders and Agnes Enders (nee Smith).

Jocko proudly served in the United States Army and was an active member of the American Legion. He sold whiskey for 40 years and was proud to be top salesman with various companies for several years. Jocko enjoyed baseball, golf and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan; having attended many games at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.

Jocko loved his wife, children, family, friends and Northwoods home — where many BBQ cookouts and gatherings were held and will be greatly missed and treasured forever.

Jocko is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elaine Enders; his dear sister, Phyllis (Don) Brunnbauer; children, Travis Enders (Julie) Enders, Tara (Dan) Schultz, Aaron Enders and Angela Enders; and grandchildren, T.J. Enders and Dustin Keeney.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1 until 3 p.m. at Bolger Funeral Home in Woodruff on Friday, October 2, 2026. Military Honors will be performed at 2:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in John Enders’ name may be given to Mercer/Manitowish Waters VFW Post #9536.
