Beverly A. Graveen Bauman, age 86, of Lac du Flambeau, passed away on September 15, 2026. She was born on April 4, 1940 in Hayward to Elmer and Mabel Graveen.
In 1954 Beverly was chosen as the Centennial Queen of Lac du Flambeau when they had their Centennial Celebration. She was in the first class to graduate from Lakeland Union High School in 1958. After high school she attended the Indianhead Technical School of Nursing in Superior.
On October 10, 1959 Beverly married Alden Bauman of Edgar, who was the son of Martin and Esther Bauman. They had three children: Bruce, Brenda, and Jeff. In 1961 she began working as a nurse for the Lakeland Memorial Hospital in Woodruff. After 13 years she went to work for the Chippewa Health Center in Lac du Flambeau (currently the Peter Christensen Health Center) where at the time there was only Beverly, a nurse practitioner and a receptionist that had to take care of everything. She always said that she could have written a bestseller with all the experiences she had as a nurse. Beverly retired after 31 years at the clinic. Even with the demanding schedule she kept as a nurse, she also proudly served on the Lac du Flambeau Tribal Council for several years.
Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, Alden Bauman; daughter, Brenda Saglin; granddaughter, Melanie Bauman; and grandsons, Bruce Bauman Jr. and Russell Saglin. She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Tiffany) Bauman and Jeff (Cindy) Bauman; many grand and great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral Services were held at Calvary Lutheran Church on Monday, September 21, 2026 and burial took place at Memorial Cemetery in Lac du Flambeau. Bolger Funeral Home is assisting the family, www.bolgerfuneral.com for condolences.
