Christopher Glenn Thacker

Christopher Glenn Thacker, 47, of Rock Falls, Ill. passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026 surrounded by his family. Chris was born September 13, 1979 the son of Brad and Sandra (Hewitt) Thacker.

Chris lived for his business and took pride in all his work. Regardless of all the places across the country he worked and all the things he’s built, his biggest accomplishment was his son Casey. He was strong, intelligent, known as a man of the road, and also the hardest person to contact ever.

Chris enjoyed anything outdoors, spending time with his family and friends, playing cards and being stubborn. He gave in a way that could never be reciprocated.

Survivors include his mother Sandra Thacker; one son Casey Thacker; two brothers Will (Ashley) Thacker, and Jake (Megan) Thacker; one sister Lauren (Adam) Williams; four nephews Noah Williams, Elijah Williams, Wyatt Thacker, and Logan Thacker; maternal grandmother, Karen Riddick; paternal grandmother, Judith Hallock; several aunts uncles and cousins; and his beloved furry friend Smokie.

Preceded in death by his father Brad Thacker and pug Bruno.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2026 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation in Sterling. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Schilling Funeral Home & Cremation, with a visitation one hour prior from 10 to 11 a.m. A Celebration of Life will take place following the funeral service at Champs on Light Street, 11 E 3rd Street, Sterling, Ill., 61081.

A memorial has been established to his son Casey Thacker.
