Carol Margaret (Paskey) Hensen

Carol Margaret (Paskey) Hensen, age 86, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026. She was born on November 8, 1939, to the late Josie and Howard Paskey. As the daughter of a farmer, Carol learned the value of a strong work ethic early in life. She began her education in a one-room schoolhouse and later attended Marshall High School, graduating in 1957. On August 13, 1960, Carol married her high school sweetheart, Gerald Hensen, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and wonderful memories. They soon welcomed their four boys, and anyone who knew Carol knew just how important her sons were to her.

Carol will be remembered above all for her immaculately clean and organized home, which was her absolute pride and joy. She accomplished the seemingly impossible feat of keeping a spotless house in spite of the chaos created by raising four boys — and later welcoming seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren into her pristine space. Carol often showed her deep love for her family through her baking, and her cookies and legendary chocolate cake will be dearly missed.

Never one to sit still, Carol loved spending her time outdoors tending to her garden, fishing on many of the nearby lakes, or snowmobiling in the winter. Once her boys were well on their way to adulthood, she brought her hard work and love for cooking to Central Colony, working in the food service area. She thoroughly enjoyed her time and the friendships made there until her retirement. In her later years, she finally learned to slow down just enough to enjoy watching the Milwaukee Brewers on TV. Her family is immensely grateful for the endless love, dedication, and beautiful memories she gifted them throughout her life.

Carol is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Gerald Hensen. She is further survived by their four sons: Ed (Diane) Hensen, Steve (Mary) Hensen, Pat (Karen) Hensen, and Tom (Stacey) Hensen; her seven grandchildren: Kayla Hensen, Dusty (Amanda) Hensen, Heather (Alec) Schumann, Brad Hensen, Austin (Megan) Hensen, Megan (Mikey) Butcher, and Jeremy Hensen; and her three great-grandchildren: Ethan, Haylen, and Callie, with three more soon-to-be great-grandchildren on the way. A celebration of life will be held in the future.
