David “Dave” Allen LaFrenier of McFarland, died on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the age of 75. Cherished son of the late John “Jack” and Norma LaFrenier; devoted father of Bradley (Melanie) LaFrenier, and Adam LaFrenier; loving grandfather of Justin, Alexis, Andrew, Sebastian, Kaitlin, Abryelle, Kensington and Dakota; dear brother of Len (Lynn) LaFrenier, and Rick (Constance) LaFrenier; dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

David was preceded in death by his siblings: Tommy LaFrenier, Normie LaFrenier, John “Butch” LaFrenier, and Robert “Bob” LaFrenier.

David devoted his life to the culinary arts and always strove to be the world’s greatest chef. He attended culinary school at the Milwaukee Area Technical College which opened the door to working at many fine dining establishments across the Northwoods, Colorado (even hunting camps deep in the mountains only accessible by horseback), and Florida to name a few. He had many stories of movie stars, astronauts, and other public figures that frequented the supper clubs and restaurants where he prepared fantastic meals for everyone.

David had many hobbies and interests throughout his life including SCUBA diving/ice diving and even volunteering for the rescue squad, traveling around in his truck and camper, visiting with his grandchildren and enjoying the outdoors and time with his cats. Through his adventures he met many people and left a positive and lasting impression on them all.
